UPDATED Royal Tour India: Day 1

Wills and Kate lost no time after touching down in the wee hours, in reaching the Oval Maidan sporting fields to observe (and take part in) cricket-related activities. As usual, we found the active Duchess taking part in the drills whilst wearing 4-inch wedges and a lovely summer frock. I love the sari-inspired print and embroidery of the Anita Dongre dress. The key hole detail is fun yet maintains the Duchess' trademark elegance. And while a burlap sack would look lovely on the Duchess, this particular length hits all the right notes on her. If this is an indication, I am very excited for the new pieces she may debut on this tour! By the way, the Gulrukh tunic dress is available for purchase for USD 236, and in limited sizes.
It's only fitting that the Cambridges played a bit of cricket with Indian cricket royalty - that's Dilip Vengsarkar in the background and Sachin Tendulkar in the foreground.
HRH is welcomed with a tikka at the Banganga Water Tank which served to juxtapose what is a truth in Mumbai and India generally - one can find a 900+ year-old structure in the heart of a thriving metropolis.
The day's activities centered around children living in Mumbai slums who benefit from the work of the Magic Bus, Doorstep School, and Childline nonprofits.
