Guest Watching at Gen-esh's Sangeet

B-town came out strong at this A-list couple's wedding functions. In the spirit of awards season, I will be awarding my signature cocktail (the desipolitan, natch) to deserving individuals.

Best in Color
Love the sherbet colors of Sameera's anarkali
but the shoes were bo-ring and her makeup's
a tad ashy.
Kudos, Sushma for rocking an unusual
color combination.
Asin would have won this round
but her ghagra is too simple.
I die! Dia was smashing.
Best in Classy and Understated
I'm not entirely sure a toga
is sangeet attire. Still, Susi looks
elegant.
For clarification, Goldie is not the attraction here.
It's the lovelies on either side.
You go, Mrs. SRK. Proving that
elegance can be colorful.
Best in Semi-scandalous*
It's the boob-hanging-out draping of
the pallu that makes MAK the winner here.
*Obviously winning a desipolitan in this category is not a good thing! Photos: ndtv, businesscinema

However, on a fun and superficial level, she has also drawn favorable comparisons to the Duchess of Cambridge, so much so, that she is sometimes referred to as the "Kate Middleton of the Himalayas".
So who is this Himalayan Queen? At 25-years-old, she is the youngest Queen Consort in the world. Like Kate, she was a commoner (though with an aristocratic lineage) and the daughter of a pilot. She is fashionable, athletic, and holds a university arts background. Additionally, she herself is a brand new mum, having recently given birth to a baby boy.
As with Wills and Kate, the King and Queen of Bhutan have always shown great respect for their country's cult…
